{"id":7659,"date":"2026-07-10T17:08:57","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T14:08:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trudovi.org.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=7659"},"modified":"2026-07-30T17:17:04","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T14:17:04","slug":"strengthening-union-communication-and-representation","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/trudovi.org.ua\/en\/news\/strengthening-union-communication-and-representation\/","title":{"rendered":"Strengthening Union Communication and Representation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 10 July, LI supported intensive training on persuasive communication and organizing skills for&nbsp;29&nbsp;activists&nbsp;of the Marine Transport Workers\u2019 Trade Union of Ukraine (MTWTU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MTWTU, which unites both seafarers, cadets and&nbsp;workers employed in ports and other maritime and inland waterway transport infrastructure, is one of the few Ukrainian trade unions that has continued to grow despite the challenges of the full-scale invasion. As the union expands, strengthening the communication and organizing capacities of its activists has become increasingly important for attracting new members and building stronger workplace representation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training was delivered by Tetiana Goncharova, a well-known Ukrainian TV journalist and public speaking and rhetoric trainer. Participants also discussed practical communication strategies for different audiences and workplace situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another important component of the training was public communication and media engagement. Activists improved their skills in delivering clear and compelling messages during interviews, communicating with journalists, and managing union social media platforms.
