A single mother in Ukraine triumphed in the Supreme Court after being wrongfully dismissed post-maternity leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When she returned, she learned that her job was being eliminated. While alternative positions were suggested, she had to turn them down because of much lower pay and required business travel. The employer halted her salary and eventually terminated her two months later, violating legal protections for single mothers and neglecting to secure prior approval from the union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a lengthy legal process, the Supreme Court upheld the lower courts’ decisions, ruling that the dismissal violated labor laws and the worker\u2019s parental rights. The employer was ordered to pay UAH 200,000 in compensation for the period of enforced unemployment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
