LI Lawyer Explains Labor Book Digitalization

On 9 June, LI lawyer Kateryna Shvets gave a prime-time interview to a national television broadcaster Suspilne, discussing both the practical and legal aspects of one of the most significant employment-related digital reforms currently underway in Ukraine.

The interview focused on the approaching deadline of 10 June, by which workers are encouraged to submit scanned copies of their paper labor books (labor employment records) to the Pension Fund of Ukraine. This process aims to digitize employment records, enabling authorities to accurately verify individuals’ work experience and employment history to properly calculate future pension benefits.

During the interview, Kateryna provided a comprehensive overview of the digitalization procedure, explaining its purpose, practical steps, and key requirements. She also shared valuable recommendations for workers on how to complete the submission process efficiently and avoid common mistakes.

Importantly, Kateryna clarified that workers who are unable to submit their scanned labor records by the 10 June deadline will not face penalties. She emphasized that the digitalization process will continue beyond this date, ensuring that individuals retain the opportunity to update their employment records and secure accurate pension calculations in the future.
