Coal Miner Secures Victory in Court, Reclaiming Over UAH 125,000 in Unpaid Wages

Labor Initiatives’ lawyers assisted a coal miner from a state-owned mining enterprise in the Donetsk region in winning a court case regarding unpaid wages.

Due to serious violations of Ukraine’s labor laws and non-compliance with the collective agreement, the worker was compelled to resign. The employer failed to pay his wages for an extended period, leaving him unable to support his family, including a young child with a disability.

The court ruled in favor of the worker, ordering the company to pay wage arrears and average earnings for the delayed payment. The total amount recovered was UAH 125,785.
