Labor Initiatives Legal Clinic Secures 55,000 UAH in Wage and Leave Compensation for a Single Mother

Lawyers from Labor Initiatives supported a worker – a single mother – in defending her labour rights and recovering unpaid entitlements.

She approached the Legal Clinic regarding wage arrears and unpaid financial compensation for all unused annual and additional leave days upon dismissal.

The worker had repeatedly contacted the employer verbally, but her requests were ignored.

Legal Clinic lawyers assisted in preparing a formal written claim to the employer, referring to labour legislation and demanding:

  • payment of wage arrears
  • compensation for delayed wage payments
  • financial compensation for all unused annual and additional leave days upon dismissal

As a result, the worker’s rights were fully restored. The employer paid the outstanding wages in full and provided compensation for all unused leave days.

The total amount recovered was approximately 55,000 UAH.

This case highlights the importance of legal support for workers, particularly those with additional social protections.
