Effective Safeguarding of Labor Rights for Fortification Workers

Five construction workers building fortifications in the Sumy region turned to Labor Initiatives (LI) after months of unpaid wages and the employer’s refusal to accept their resignation requests.

Despite being officially employed, they faced labor rights violations.

LI lawyers provided legal guidance, prepared resignation letters and wage demands, and assisted in filing complaints to the Labor Inspectorate.

As a result, the workers were dismissed by mutual agreement and received all due payments totaling UAH 190,000.
