IDP Worker Receives Final Payment After Dismissal with Support from Legal Clinic
An internally displaced woman who worked at a company engaged in fuel trade turned to the legal clinic of a civil society organization for assistance. After deciding to resign, she did not receive her final payment — including her last month’s salary and compensation for unused leave. The employer justified the non-payment by referring to martial law.
As a result, the worker sought legal support. The clinic’s lawyers prepared an official request to the employer demanding that all due payments be made. They also drafted an appeal to the State Labour Service asking to initiate an inspection.
The employer responded promptly to the worker’s request, so there was no need to submit the appeal to the Labour Service. Ultimately, the worker received her full final payment, totaling approximately 30,000 UAH.
