Adapting to New Realities – Engagement with War Veterans
On September 26, the Labor Initiatives hub in Kyiv hosted a public lecture facilitated by representatives of the charity organization Vesta. Vesta has been functioning since 2015 to help veterans and their family members with various issues, particularly legal and psychological aid, support for injured veterans, and advocacy of veteran-friendly policies and laws.

This was the first lecture in a series of joint events on ethical and ecological communication with veterans and their family members. It is critical to support these people, return them to union and working communities, and do it properly to avoid a bigger post-war trauma.

The event raised keen interest among participants, who included unionists, war veterans, servicemen, students, young scholars, and other workers. By analyzing typical workplace and day-to-day situations, event participants could find the proper behavior patterns and realize the simple truth—an equal human attitude to everyone without extra veterans` heroization is the backbone of a veteran-friendly atmosphere.
