Atomprofspilka: Opening New Frontiers for Collective Bargaining
On 19-21 July, SC and LI supported a three-day training on collective bargaining and negotiation upskilling for the Nuclear and Energy Workers Union of Ukraine (Atomprofspilka) in Lviv. SC and LI invited well-known Ukrainian trainer Vasyl Komissarov.

25 young leaders from five nuclear power plants, uranium mining plants, and the Ukrainian energy company head office had a comprehensive introduction to the essential skills, tools, and techniques required to become successful negotiators. The trainer provided a framework to help unionists increase effectiveness and productivity in negotiation processes and develop greater confidence and capability in their communication and negotiation strategies.
Participants leveraged their knowledge in negotiation simulation exercises based on real collective bargaining cases and workplace situations to achieve success in the upcoming negotiation cycle on CBA signing.

The workers of nuclear power plants and other energy facilities are considered critical for the economy, and their upcoming collective bargaining process will impact not only the well-being of 51,000 union members but also the functioning of the whole energy system in Ukraine.
