On March 14, Labor Initiatives, jointly with the Lviv-based Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “JurFem” carried out an offline seminar on the legal instruments to fight bullying at work. 15 participants came to the VonaHub space in Lviv, and 236 participants joined the stream on the LI Facebook page.

The seminar revealed a big interest in the topic as the new provisions on bullying prevention were included in the Labor Code in December 2022. LI lawyers Nadiia Yolkina and Alina Muzychenko, together with Marta Zmysla, an attorney from “Jurfem”, analyzed the concept of bullying (“mobbing” in Ukrainian legislation), rights and obligations of employers on its prevention, functions of the union in the creating favorable and friendly atmosphere among workers.

In addition, speakers addressed the issues of court practice and the impediments of proving bullying facts during trial. This part of the presentation raised many questions among the listeners, as bullying practices are often concealed as cases of general labor rights violations.
