Expert Council at the Ombuds Office

On February 28, George Sandul, LI legal director, co-chaired a second meeting of the Expert Council on Economic and Social Rights functioning under the auspices of the Ombuds Office. 

Members of the Council approved the format and the agenda of the Expert Council in 2023. One of the next meetings will be devoted to the broad discussion of the labor law reform and the elaboration of the Labor Code draft in particular. 

In addition, after a vibrant discussion majority of the Council voted to recommend submitting a Constitutional appeal on behalf of the Ombudsman regarding the notorious Law of Ukraine No.2434 (former draft law No.5371) on simplified regulation of labor relations for small and medium enterprises. Following contributions from the Expert Council, the text of the Constitutional appeal will be presented soon.
