On March 20, Alina Antonenko, LI’s lawyer, was invited to speak at a training seminar titled “Social Dialogue in the Period of Transformations.” This seminar is part of the project “Development of Social Dialogue in Ukraine and Strengthening Trade Union Potential,” a collaborative effort of the State Employees Union of Ukraine, Union to Union, and the Swedish Trade Union of Civil Servants (Fackförbundet ST).

During her presentation, Alina provided an in-depth analysis of the new draft Labor Code registered in parliament, emphasizing its new features and identifying specific provisions that could potentially challenge or weaken existing workers’ rights. She also addressed several “hot” topics, such as vacation, maternity leave provisions, and video surveillance, that have been widely debated in the media from different viewpoints.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, during which participants clarified how these legislative shifts will directly affect union daily operations and workers’ protections.
