LI Explains the Risks of Ukraine’s Draft Labor Code in a New Video Podcast

In collaboration with a well-known Ukrainian journalist Tetiana Goncharova, LI continues to popularize labor rights and union topics. This time, a new video podcast episode dedicated to labor law reform and the future of the labor market in Ukraine was released. Goncharova’s podcast has already attracted an audience of more than 88,000 subscribers, making it an influential platform for public discussion on social and economic issues.

In this episode, George Sandul, LI legal director, presented LI’s position on the proposed draft Labor Code of Ukraine, which has been submitted to the Parliament and is currently awaiting consideration in its first reading.

During the discussion, George outlined the key concerns raised by Ukrainian trade unions, labor rights advocates, and independent experts regarding provisions of the draft that could significantly narrow workers’ rights and weaken existing labor protections. He also addressed several arguments frequently advanced by the authors and supporters of the reform, explaining why many of these claims are misleading or lack sufficient evidence.
