OMBUDSMAN AND THE NGO LABOR INITIATIVE DISCUSS THE SOLIDARITY AGAINST CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN

On February 23, the Human Rights Ombuds, and NGO Labor Initiatives presented their collaboration on the Solidarity Against Corruption campaign. The campaign is a cooperative program between the Ombuds, Labor Initiatives, Solidarity Center and Ukrainian trade unions. The goal of the project is to educate trade union members, civil society, and the broader public on the anti-corruption role of freedom of association and workplace activism. The parties presented their plans for 2017, and reaffirmed their commitment to a broad, inclusive approach to addressing corruption that includes protect for workers, whistleblowers, and other activists. The groups also agreed to expand their work defending core worker and human rights, including association and the right to strike.
