Human Rights Work in the Labor Law Sphere: Realities and Cases

On October 25, 2023, in the framework of partnership with the Labor Law Department of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, George Sandul, LI legal director, and Inna Kudinska, a lawyer affiliated with LI and SC in Ukraine, held an online lecture for 54 students and young scholars of the national university.

LI attorneys discussed the topic “Human Rights Work in the Labor Law Sphere: Realities and Cases.” George and Inna told youth about the practical side of labor relations as anyone who works, finds a job, or upon retirement, gets into the labor relations system with its pros and cons. Moreover, LI experts presented a portfolio of LI strategic litigation cases to demonstrate the hurdles workers face in their rights protection and the importance of “success stories” dissemination for workers` motivation.  

Engaging future lawyers in labor relations and human rights dialogue is an important part of building an overall system of worker rights dialogue that supports improved working conditions for Ukrainian workers.
