Promoting Women’s Labor Rights: Collaborative Initiative 

On November 7, 2023, Labor Initiatives, together with the “VONA hub-Lviv” project organized an online training focusing on the main aspects of women`s hiring. 

LI attorneys Nadia Yolkina and Kateryna Shvets focused on the nuances of job advertisements, hidden discrimination, and gender biases during job interviews. The topic raised the keen interest of 25 participants who joined the lecture as many women still face gender discrimination in hiring, which exacerbates women from vulnerable groups like women with disabilities and single mothers. 

*Note. “VONA hub” is the project implemented by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine. The name of the “VONA” career hub consists of the first letters of 4 words (in Ukrainian) – Free, Winged, Independent, and Ambitious. The teams of the “VONA” career hubs are working to make women feel that way. Hubs have already been opened in Dnipro, Lviv, Uzhhorod, and the Kyiv region.
