Radio Interview: Labor Code in the Spotlight

On January 14, George Sandul, Legal Director of Labor Initiatives (LI), took part in a morning prime-time program on Ukrainian Radio, the national public broadcaster.

The discussion focused on the draft Labor Code and its potential impact on workers. During the interview, George Sandul outlined the key new provisions proposed in the draft, highlighted potential risks for workers, and emphasized that public statements in the media often reflect only the most visible elements of the reform.

He stressed that many important and potentially problematic changes are embedded in the text itself and require careful legal analysis. According to LI’s position, labour legislation reform must strengthen workers’ rights and social dialogue rather than weaken existing safeguards.
