Resolving Industrial Labor Disputes: Challenges and Effective Strategies

On March 5, Labor Initiatives lawyers George Sandul and Inna Kudinska shared their practical expertise in effectively resolving industrial labor disputes in Ukraine during a professional discussion organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FPU), with support from the Danish Trade Union Development Agency (DTDA). The leadership from the ILO in Ukraine, along with representatives from the National Conciliation and Mediation Service, also contributed as speakers.

George and Inna presented several cases from the Labor Initiatives practice, highlighting how industrial disputes were successfully resolved in favor of workers. Resolving industrial disputes relies heavily on a well-coordinated effort among workers and strong legal backing. Additionally, practical examples of industrial disputes from the Labor Initiatives portfolio are valuable for enhancing the provisions of draft law № 12034 “On Collective Labor Disputes,” which is set to be presented for its first reading in parliament.
