On February 25, Inna Kudinska, a LI attorney, was invited as a panel speaker at the webinar launching the latest issue of ILAW Global Labour Rights Reporter: The Role of Lawyers in Union Growth. This issue emphasizes that while law is not a substitute for worker power, lawyers can play an essential role in union growth when their work aligns with organizing, social dialogue, and democratic practices.

Inna Kudinska had the opportunity to present the article “Law in the Service of Workers: Building Social Movement in Ukraine,” authored with Tristan Masat and George Sandul.

The cross-regional roundtable discussion among experienced ILAW lawyers highlighted the essential link between unions and their legal advisors. Alongside other contributors to the GLRR, lawyers from ITUC, Ecuador, and Japan, panel speakers talked about how lawyers can: leverage regional and international law to support union expansion efforts; help union clients utilize internal union structures and policies to foster growth; and assist their union clients in exploring growth opportunities among workers who are traditionally outside the unionized workforce, among other topics.
