Upskilling Domestic Workers: Training for Safety and Labor Empowerment
On October 19, Labor Initiatives conducted an emergency first-aid training session for 16 domestic workers involved in childcare. The training included a discussion of labor rights, and was an opportunity to promote the work of the union to these care providers.

This session was highly important for childcare workers, emphasizing the need to respond quickly and effectively to any child-related emergency.
This was a training in a series for the Union of Home Staff (UHS) activists, members, and potential members. The union leadership views these sessions as a chance to showcase the union as an organization that can equip workers with vital skills, which could also lead to higher wages.
