Union Youth Camp “The Lake of Knowledge”
On 2-5 September, Solidarity Center and Labor Initiatives supported the union camp for 128 young activists of the Nuclear Power Plants Workers Union (Atomprofspilka). The camp was conducted in Varash, the satellite town of the Rivne nuclear power plant.

The main goal was to gather members of youth councils to build networks among all nuclear power plants operating in Ukraine and related enterprises. Many union leaders were elected in wartime and needed an overview of union functioning and an explanation of the ABC`s of organizing and union positioning among workers.

Labor Initiatives communications manager Hanna Sinkova conducted two sessions for participants on unions` media promotion, effective social media work, and information safety amid the war.
Among the camp speakers were the members of the Trade Union Lifeline initiative—FPU youth council chairwoman and young leaders of the rail workers union—who shared their experience of humanitarian and advocacy work during the war, focusing on veterans` labor rights and their efforts in Ukraine recovery projects.
