Assisted a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in obtaining UAH 90,000 in compensation for unused leave
Lawyers from Labor Initiatives helped defend the labour rights of a service member mobilised into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
While serving, he decided to resign from his primary civilian job. However, during the final settlement, the employer failed to make full payment and ignored the requirement to compensate accumulated leave days.
Over the previous five years, the worker had never taken a full annual leave, which resulted in a significant compensation amount.
Labor Initiatives lawyers prepared a formal claim to the employer demanding payment in line with labour legislation.
At the same time, a lawsuit was prepared. The employer was given the opportunity to review the court claim before its official submission.
Understanding that court proceedings would require payment not only of the debt but also average earnings for the entire delay period and legal costs, the company revised its position.
As a result, the employer recognised the claims and paid the full amount of debt in pre-trial settlement.
The total amount paid reached approximately 90,000 UAH.
