Advocacy for the Rights of a Young Mother to Maternity Leave

Labor Initiatives (LI) lawyers supported a female employee in eastern Ukraine whose labor contract had been suspended since August 2023.

After giving birth, the employer refused to grant her maternity leave or benefits, citing the contract suspension during wartime.

LI assisted in preparing a formal complaint demanding the cancellation of the suspension, the issuance of maternity leave, and payment of related benefits.

As a result, the employer fulfilled all of the worker’s legal demands.
