Receiving UAH 200,000 in Back Pay After 2.5-Year Delay
Lawyers from Labor Initiatives successfully helped a municipal agency worker recover unpaid wages that had accumulated over two and a half years.
Despite repeatedly appealing to his employer for the payment of wage arrears, the worker’s requests were ignored. Nevertheless, acting in good faith, he continued performing his job duties, receiving only a small portion of his salary.
Labor Initiatives’ legal clinic prepared a formal appeal to both the employer and the town council (the enterprise’s founding body), requesting an investigation into the municipal agency’s operations and accountability for wage delays. In parallel, LI lawyers drafted a lawsuit in case the matter could not be resolved pre-trial.
Ultimately, the employer and town council agreed to resolve the situation without going to court. The worker’s rights were restored in full—UAH 200,000 (over $5,400) in wage arrears were paid.
