Employee Wins Court Case Against the Pension Fund of Ukraine
Attorneys from the NGO Labor Initiatives successfully defended a worker’s right to receive retirement benefits after the Pension Fund of Ukraine denied her application, claiming she lacked sufficient years of contributions. The Fund refused to count part of her work history due to technical mistakes in her employment record book.
The legal team prepared a lawsuit challenging the Pension Fund’s inaction and demanding that it recognize her full work record.
In their filings, the attorneys argued that documented entries in the employment record book are sufficient to verify years worked, even if there are minor technical mistakes. They emphasized that procedural errors in employment documentation cannot justify denying credit for legitimate periods of work.
Throughout the legal process, the worker received guidance and support from the organization’s lawyers.
Ultimately, the court ruled in her favor, declaring the Pension Fund’s actions unlawful and ordering that the disputed period be included in her official insurance record.
