Securing Protections for a Single Mother with Disability

Lawyers from Labor Initiatives (LI) successfully protected the labor rights of a female worker in the trade and industry sector who is a single mother with a disability.

The worker reached out to LI regarding wage arrears and the employer’s failure to pay monetary compensation for unused annual and additional leave upon dismissal. Despite making multiple verbal requests to her employer, she received no response.

LI’s legal team prepared a formal letter to the employer citing relevant labor legislation. The letter demanded full payment of the wage arrears, compensation for delayed payments, and reimbursement for all unused leave days as required by law upon termination.

As a result, the worker’s rights were fully restored: her unpaid wages were settled in full, and she received compensation for unused annual and additional leave. The total amount paid reached approximately UAH 30,000.
