Strengthening Union Advocacy: Atomprofspilka Training
From May 13–15, Atomprofspilka hosted a training seminar in Vinnytsia for a specific group: 23 union accountants, staff union members, and local chapter leaders representing nuclear power plants and related facilities of Energoatom, the national nuclear power company.
Labor Initiatives supported the event’s first day, featuring legal sessions led by LI lawyers Alina Antonenko and Kateryna Shvets. The experts delivered an interactive workshop focused on strengthening collective agreements, analyzing specific clauses regarding wages and bonuses, and aligning sectoral and company-level agreements. They also emphasized the vital importance of robust union consultations and securing prior union consent as mandated by national legislation and collective agreements.

In addition, LI attorneys briefed participants on recent changes to national labor legislation, the draft Labor Code, and its potential impact on local union powers. The group also discussed necessary adaptations to the bargaining process ahead of the enforcement of the new law on collective agreements.
