Bullying at Work: Legal Workshop

On November 20, Labor Initiatives lawyers Alina Antonenko, Kateryna Shvets, and Nadiia Yolkina were invited to conduct a legal workshop about preventing and combating bullying (mobbing) at the workplace for over 40 elected union leaders and lawyers working in local chapters of the Trade Union of Workers of Metallurgical and Mining Industries of Ukraine.

Human Rights Ombudsman Agenda: People with Disabilities and Environmental Rights

On November 15, George Sandul, Labor Initiatives' legal director, co-chaired the Social and Economic Expert Council quarterly meeting, which functions under the Human Rights Ombudsman of Ukraine. The Council members discussed two important issues - (1) timely social benefits to people with disabilities due to occupational injuries and workplace accidents, and (2) access to justice in environmental cases—both issues with significant wartime complications that need to be navigated and solved.

Adapting to New Realities – War Trauma and Loss Experience

In October, the Labor Initiatives hub in Kyiv continued the series of joint events facilitated by representatives of the charity organization Vesta. Vesta has been functioning since 2015 to help veterans and their family members with various issues, particularly legal and psychological aid, support for injured veterans, and advocacy of veteran-friendly policies and laws.
