International Lawyers Assisting Workers Conference

On October 9-11, Labor Initiatives lawyers Inna Kudinska and Nadiia Yolkina joined SC Ukraine Country Program Director Tristan Masat at the 3rd International Lawyers Assisting Workers Network (ILAW) Conference in Casablanca, Morocco. The ILAW Network was established in 2018 and now encompasses more than 1,300 members in over 90 countries.

Another Landmark Decision on Whistleblower Protection

On October 9, 2024, after a year of court proceedings, the Supreme Court of Ukraine ruled the final decision in the second reinstatement case of prominent union leader and whistleblower Olena Bebeshko from the Independent Trade Union of Aviation Workers, a long-standing partner to Solidarity Center and Labor Initiatives.

Adapting to New Realities – Engagement with War Veterans

On September 26, the Labor Initiatives hub in Kyiv hosted a public lecture facilitated by representatives of the charity organization Vesta. Vesta has been functioning since 2015 to help veterans and their family members with various issues, particularly legal and psychological aid, support for injured veterans, and advocacy of veteran-friendly policies and laws.

Union Youth Camp “The Lake of Knowledge”

On 2-5 September, Solidarity Center and Labor Initiatives supported the union camp for 128 young activists of the Nuclear Power Plants Workers Union (Atomprofspilka). The camp was conducted in Varash, the satellite town of the Rivne nuclear power plant.
